How do I set up, amend or cancel a standing order?

A standing order is when you tell us to pay a fixed amount to someone straight from your account at regular intervals. The money is taken from your account automatically on a fixed date and will show up on your statement.

Set up a standing order using your mobile app

  1. Log in to your mobile app.
  2. Select the account that you want to set up the standing order to come from.
  3. Select the 'Standing order' section.
  4. Select 'Create' in the top right of the screen to add a new standing order.
  5. Choose your payee from the lists provided - either to a payee, company or your own account.
  6. Follow the on screen steps to set up the description, amount and payment intervals.
  7. Review and confirm the details.

Set up a standing order online

You will require a card-reader and a card you can use with that reader to complete this process.

  1. Access your Anytime Internet Banking service at www.ulsterbankanytimebanking.ie (opens in a new window).
  2. Select 'Payments and transfers' from the left hand menu.
  3. Under the 'Standing Orders' heading select 'Create a standing order'.
  4. Type in the payee's name.
  5. Type in their bank account number.
  6. Type in their sort code.
  7. Type in a reference.
  8. Select a payment period.
  9. Click 'Next'.
  10. Choose the account the standing order is to be paid from.
  11. Enter the amount.
  12. Select when and how often you want your standing order to be paid.
  13. Click 'Next'.
  14. A summary of your standing order will be displayed, check the details and authorise with your card-reader.
  15. Once authorised with your card-reader, your new standing order will be set up.

Amend a standing order in the mobile app

  1. Log in to your mobile banking app.
  2. Select the account that the standing order is set up on.
  3. Select the 'Standing order' section.
  4. Select the 'Standing order' section you'd like to amend and tap 'Amend'.
  5. Choose whether to edit the payee name, payment amount, payment date or frequency.
  6. Select 'Next'.
  7. Check and confirm your details are correct.
  8. Select 'Confirm' to complete your changes.

Amend a standing order online

  1. Log in to Anytime Internet Banking at www.ulsterbankanytimebanking.ie (opens in a new window).
  2. Select 'Payments and transfers' from the left hand menu.
  3. From the 'Standing orders' section, select 'Manage standing orders'.
  4. From the 'Standing orders list' select the appropriate standing order and then select the 'Amend standing order' button.
  5. If required amend the payee details and then select 'Next'.
  6. If required amend the payment details and then select 'Next'.
  7. Please select 'Confirm' to complete your request.
  8. Confirm the details are correct and if required authorise the changes using your card-reader.
  9. Select 'Confirm' button to complete.

Please note: You may need a card-reader and a card you can use with that reader to complete this process.

We require at least 3 working days' notice to amend your standing order online, however you can amend a standing order due within the next 2 working days by contacting Telephone Banking or visiting a branch.

For example: If a payment is due to leave your account on a Friday, the final opportunity to amend the standing order online is by close of business on Tuesday.

 

Cancelling a standing order

To cancel a standing order online or on your mobile app you will need to give us 2 working days notice.

For example: If a payment is due to leave your account on a Friday, the final opportunity to cancel the standing order is by close of business on Wednesday.

If your payment is due out within the next 2 working days and you wish to cancel the payment, you will need to contact telephone banking by 6:00pm on the working day before the payment is due.

Please have your Customer Number and PIN ready as this will enable your call to be answered faster and more securely. These are the same details you use to log in to Anytime Internet Banking.

Cancel a standing order using your mobile banking app

  1. Log in to your mobile banking app.
  2. Select the account that the standing order is set up on.
  3. Select the 'Standing order' section.
  4. Select the standing order you want cancelled. You will see the detail of the standing order, and the option to cancel the standing order will appear at the bottom of this screen.

Cancel a standing order online

  1. Log in to Anytime Internet Banking at www.ulsterbankanytimebanking.ie (opens in a new window).
  2. Select 'Payments and transfers' from the left hand menu.
  3. From the 'Standing orders' section, select 'Manage standing orders'.
  4. From the 'Standing orders list' select the appropriate standing order then click on the 'Cancel standing order' button.
  5. Select 'Confirm' button to complete.
