How do I inform you of a bereavement?

Our dedicated Bereavement Services Team are here to help make things as easy as possible for you as a single point of contact for the bank.

Ways to get in touch with us

You can let us know about your bereavement by:

  • Completing our online notification form (opens in a new window). Upon completion, someone from our Bereavements Team will be in contact.
  • Calling our dedicated Bereavement Services Team on 1800 303 543 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm)
  • Writing to us at Ulster Bank Bereavement Services Team, Ulster Bank Ireland DAC, Stranmills Road, Belfast BT9 5UB
  • Visiting your local branch
  • If you have a Business Account, please contact your Relationship Manager/Business Development Manager

What we will require from you

When letting us know about your bereavement, you'll need to have some important documents to hand, such as:

  • Full name and last known address details of the deceased
  • Their Ulster Bank sort code and account number (we only need to see one, even if they had multiple accounts with us)
  • The original will, if one exists. Please note that proof of ID and Address of all executor(s) will be required before we can close the accounts held by the deceased.
  • Your proof of ID and address
  • We no longer require a Death Certificate/Coroners Report for Estates with a value of less than €5000
