What is a Pre-notification of Charges (PNC)?

A PNC (Pre-notification of Charges) is a statement (paper or email) that will be issued to you each month where your total fees (maintenance and transaction fees) are €4 or more. The PNC will be issued at least 10 business days before fees are deducted from your account.

If you currently receive paper statements you will receive a paper PNC. If you currently receive e-statements you will receive an e-PNC.

What information will be on my PNC?

Your PNC will include the fees and charges you have incurred during the previous charging cycle:

  • Dates of the charging cycle
  • Transaction fee categories, price points and number of transactions (if applicable)
  • Monthly maintenance fee
  • Total fee and the date it will be debited from you account (21 days after the last day of the charging cycle)
  • Debit interest due (if applicable)
  • Refunds received in the previous charging cycle

How can I verify my transaction fees?

You can verify your transaction fees by:

  • Identifying the transactions on your statement between the charging cycle dates
  • Adding up the transactions for each category (noting each category has a different price point), then adding on your monthly maintenance fee of €2 . If you don't get a PNC, you can visit our website (opens in a new window) for more information
  • Checking the total against your PNC or the charge applied to your account if you do not receive a PNC
  • Registering for Anytime Internet Banking (opens in a new window) to track and reconcile your finances, calling us on 1800 283 062 or 00353 1804 7475 (if you're calling outside of ROI), or visiting a branch

Why do I not receive a PNC if my transaction fees are under €4?

We are required under regulation to provide customers with a PNC where charges are more than €10 however; in order to ensure more customers receive a PNC, we will issue PNCs if your charges are €4 or more each month.

Will my PNC be available to view on Anytime Internet Banking if I receive paper statements?
